The appearance of wrinkles is a natural process of aging, but we can do a lot about it. So, what causes wrinkles?
Over the age of thirty, the process of wrinkling begins, and spectacular growth of wrinkles is inevitable over fifty. Several factors contribute to the development and strengthening of the appearance of wrinkles.
What causes wrinkles appearing on our face:
As the age progresses, all three layers of the skin begin to get thinner. Decreasing production of keratin, collagen, and elastin limits hydration, while the sebaceous glands produce less oil, making our skin dry.
The inherited skin type plays a role in wrinkles. Different diseases and hormonal conditions can also speed up the aging process of our skin.
Not enough sleep also contributes to the appearance of wrinkles.
Unhealthy, poor diet and too little fluid consumption make the wrinkling of our skin more spectacular. Intake of vitamins A, C, and E make the skin naturally glow. Foods rich in antioxidants can also make the skin more youthful, and proper fluid intake hydrates it from the inside.
Poor oxygenation, and slowed metabolic processes for various reasons all affect skin condition and accelerate the signs of the skin’s aging.
UV causes wrinkles
The UV-A range of the sunlight damaging our skin, therefore you should be careful with sunbathing and avoid solarium.
Environmental factors, sanitary products, and cosmetics can produce adverse effects on skin flora and pH. Out of balance flora on the skin, and non-optimal skin pH is also aging the skin.
Smoking itself enhances the early appearance of wrinkles, not just around the mouth. Cigarette smoking slows down collagen production, which reduces the absorption of vitamin C, which is an essential constituent of collagen production.
Women get wrinkles earlier than men
That is not fair, but if you are a woman, you are more prone to wrinkling. We have fewer sweat glands and weaker skin, which at a young age is perhaps an advantage, but with years of progress, it is not at all.
