Herbal Tea to Relieve Symptoms of Common Cold

The common cold is a collective term for all diseases caused by viruses in the upper respiratory tract. It is a widespread disease, especially in October to March, and usually heals without complications. Pathogens are most commonly transmitted through the air by talking, sneezing, or coughing.

People with a weakened immune system is more easily catch the viruses. It often occurs when one is tired, stressed, and sleepless. The most noticeable and bothersome symptom is the runny nose. Other symptoms are sneezing and nasal congestion, and it is often accompanied by a mildly sore throat and coughing.

Herbal tea blend for relieving symptoms of the common cold:

  • 10 parts Marsh Mallow leaf
  • 5 parts Marsh Mallow root
  • 1 part Mallow flower
  • 2 parts Licorice

The suggested amounts are for adults.

Drink one cup in the morning and, if necessary, one in the evening or before bedtime. Drink this tea while the symptoms last.

The numbers in the recipes represent the ratio by weight. You may use any weight units; e.g., grams(g), drams(dr), ounces(oz), etc.

Use a kitchen scale to measure each type of herbs.

To mix the measured herbs, use a bowl.
