Bronchitis can occur in acute and chronic forms. It is mainly caused by a viral infection, secondarily by bacterial superinfection, but it may also be an irritation. Air pollution, colds, fatigue, or malnutrition may contribute to the development of the disease.
Herbal tea recipe for bronchitis, cough, and hoarseness:
- 1 part Coltsfoot leaf
- 1 part Wooly mullein flower
- 1 part Lungwort leaf
- 1 part Iceland moss
- 1 part English plantain leaf
- 1 part Common mallow leaf
- 2 parts Marsh Mallow root
- 2 parts Licorice
The suggested amounts are for adults.
Use one tablespoon of the blend of herbs for a cupful of tea. Use a saucepan. Pour cold water over the herbs. Bring it to the boil. Boil for one minute. Take the pan off the stovetop. Let it stand for 15-20 minutes, then filter.
Drink one or two cups daily till your symptoms persist, but no longer than one month.
The numbers in the recipes represent the ratio by weight. You may use any unit; e.g., grams(g), drams(dr), ounces(oz), etc.
Use a kitchen scale to measure each type of herbs.
To mix the measured herbs, use a bowl.
